The following is essentially a cut and paste of a typical CVS session. (Only the names and places have been, mostly, changed to protect the innocent.)
You would probably not Checkout the Source at every session. That step is included for completeness.
Typically a work cycle would go like this:
Add new files and directories ( if you actually have New Files) to the Repository
Commit those and / or you other modifications
Archive your Working Source
Update your Working Source
Announce your Commit and Adds to your fellow developers at tenforty
Hack the Updated source
You shell prompt is represented like this:
